Today on my morning walk around the neighborhood, I stopped to pick up a discarded plastic water bottle. As I carried it to my recycling bin, I thought about the tons and tons of these bottles now filling our landfills and waiting for some recycler to want them.

Bottled water produces up to 1.5 million tons of plastic waste per year. And all plastic is made from OIL, as in that expensive stuff that keeps costing more every day, and is harder to find in the earth. About 47 million gallons of oil are needed to make those bottles!

Consider using a re-usable drinking bottle, and tap water, or home-filtered water. It’s safe, clean, and good for the sustainability of the planet!
